Taiga-chan Plushie by channellehazel Taiga-chan Plushie by channellehazel
Whewwwwwwwww.

So I thought I had an extra day to finish making this girly, but turned out I actually leave for my hometown tomorrow at 8:10am. X: It's 9:53pm now and I need to clean up all the sewing stuff and pack my bags still, haha!

Anyhow, about the plush.

Started making her yesterday I think. I've never made a human plushie before, so it was definitely a challenge, and I'll upload a little not-a-tutorial demo thing, as I took pictures with every bit of progress I made. You can see the picture I used in the background to try get her as accurate as possible to what she's meant to look like. > __> She's a tsundere, I hear.

So yeah. Mistakes? I'm not too worried. Like I said, it was my first go and I wasn't expecting anything amazing. Clearly I made her blazer a bit small (lul it's supposed to be done up at the front!) and I put the collar too low but these things happen and lazy seamstresses are lazy! I tried to pleat the skirt and spent ages making lots of strands of hair (that you can't appreciate because they're at the back, haha) and putting the clothes on was such a mission! But all in all, it was fun.

Taiga belongs to Toradora!
Fan plush by me. c:
I hope you still want it, *kagemikochi..?

Hehe I'm glad! Sewing really isn't as hard as it seems. O: It depends on what you're trying to do, really. Some are much easier than others. :3

It's a good show to pass the time, that's what I thought. You kind of know how it's going to end, but you still watch it through to see how it really does go down. It's an endearing one, haha.
There's one little thing very memorable in it. If you ever watch it, and get to the part when is talks about "ghosts", tell me what you think!

Well, is there anything in particular you feel like making? I saw in your gallery you've made hats before.. would you be able to make me one? Like with ears? Hmm, would a yellow hat with Pikachu ears be okay? Or something along those lines?

Yay I'm going to try and get the fabric this week. I also want to TRY modifying a hoodie to be a pokemon aka add on ears and a tail. I saw some REALLY cool ones at my con but they were like $95! I was like O_O BUT ITS JUST A HODDIE WITH EARS AND A TAIL SEWED ON! o_o Ima try and do that at home! If it works I'll be happy and have LOTS of cool hoodies come fall and winter. XD

Yeah, I think it's a cool idea. =D A friend asked me to make a mudkip hoodie but I think I'll steer away from clothing for a while yet... I'm not confident enough. x_x And yeah, milking the money's worth! I know some plush artists sell their plushies for heaaaaaps! It's crazy. o.o. Haha but yeah, your own original hoodies for winter sounds amazing. x3

No no, don't doubt it. o.o You totally could! Some plushies are really hard, sure, but some aren't so bad. Just takes practice!

LOL nice. We had to sew cushions back in class (mind you, this was like... a million years ago? Haha, 7 years ago, I mean) and mine was average as. It's easier when it's something you personally want to do though, rather than a class thing. That way you can go at your own pace too. c: And it's a constructive hobby!

You can totally try. X: I uploaded a deviation of how I made this one, so you can see just how easy it is. =D Materials do cost, but I just tell myself that most hobbies cost. xP And yes, simple ones are good. I started off really basic. I can manage medium difficulty ones now. Improvement is good! I totally recommend giving it a try.

Oh, the types of material I used to make her with..? or what I drew the pattern on? Uhm, I sketched body patterns on ordinary computer paper, cut them out and placed them on the materials to sketch around. I used felt for Taiga's skin, shoes, hair and skirt. Felt is good for being stiff. c: But for a lot of the other stuff, it was just material I picked out of the store. I usually like to go for the fluffy stuff that feels nice. o3o Well, at the fabric store I shop at they sell small squares of felt, so that's cheaper than having to buy like half a metre of a huge roll of other material, so that's another plus for felt. xD And felt has lots of colour varieties at my store. X: But fleece is also nice to work with, I hear!

.. that was what you were asking, right? xD
